Couture collections are always my favourites. It is fascinating to look at luxury fashion craftsmanship – handmade garments created with the highest-quality fabrics. I always wait with anticipation to see the most beautiful clothing that can be envisioned and made in any time. Many designers now are moving from the traditional concept of haute couture (embroidery, crystals and luxurious fabrics) and looking for new nontraditional ways to impress – i.e. Raf Simons at Dior used plastic! Haute couture collections are definitely evolving and are more modern than ever.
I am still faithful to elegance, glamour and feminine cuts so my favourite collection this year was by Zuhair Murad. I totally fell in love with blue hues in his collection. My long time favourite Ellie Saab didn’t disappoint me but I was wowed this time. I loved Giambattista Valli’s collection and his way to pay foaming tulle skirts with trousers. Other highlight of this year collections was Armani Prive colours and lightweight fabrics creating an elegant silhouette as always.
Let’s have a look at my favourites from Spring 2015 Couture collections.
Chanel’s collection was very youthful and modern showing again that Chanel’s classic jacket is no longer only worn by middle aged women.
I absolutely love Gaultier’s idea of a half jacket.
Jean Paul Gaultier
I left the most glamorous collections for the end.
