Autumn/ Winter 2013 Fashion Trends: Tartan

Another this season’s trend is tartan which is back in a big way – nearly every store or designer is doing their take. Usually associated with school uniforms however this season tartan got a pretty twist with snappy cuts, new fabrics and novel colour combinations.

Traditionally we have seen tartan used for coats or skirts but this season tartan has evolved to an evening wear. Designers are playing with different textures combining tartan with lace, fur and embroidery. The play of winter patterns and summer weights take this traditional texture to new scenarios and made it a trend to watch.

Go all the way with a two-piece or try a soft-launch statement jacket, trousers or a dress. If you are looking for an investment piece choose an overcoat in a neutral tone will last you years. Everyone can make the most of this trend this season. Here’s how…
