Autumn/ Winter 2013 Fashion Trends: Pink

Hi Everyone!

It seems that seasons have already changed – summer is over and it is the right time to start thinking how to update our wardrobes for a new season. This autumn’s significant features are grace and femininity. Imagine demure skirts, pink colour and ladylike silhouettes.

Following designers’ love with sorbet shades this summer, pink became the unexpected start for this autumn/winter season. But you should be thinking more about Grace Kelly in elegant and sophisticated silhouettes, not Barbie’s neon-pink-all-over approach. Choose from the palest petal pinks to dusky damask hues.

What is the best way to wear this trend? Head-to-toe if you dare. Tone-on-tone and head-to-toe looks were the most popular on the catwalks, although probably not easily transferred to our everyday life. If you just wish to dip your toe into this trend, match it with beige, scarlet red or black for an uplifting accent. My favourite combination is pink and soft grey which adds an instant burst of femininity for any outfit.

As you can see pink is used not only for a cocktail wear. This trend is also big for outwear. Choose a woolly oversized coat for gloomy winter days.

In my opinion pink is a very pretty addition to our autumn wardrobes which definitely brightens up our usual autumn and winter outfits. I will combine it with a bright red lipstick and nail polish which will take this colour from babyish to inexplicably sexy. What do you think about this trend?
